SATURDAY STOP AT I-44 RIVERSIDE SPEEDWAY SLATED FOR POWRi WEST MIDGETS

SATURDAY STOP AT I-44 RIVERSIDE SPEEDWAY SLATED FOR POWRi WEST MIDGETS

OKLAHOMA CITY, OKLA. (May 15, 2019) – I-44 Riverside Speedway’s red dirt will be on full display this Saturday, May 18 as the POWRi Lucas Oil West Midget League returns to the Oklahoma City 1/5th-mile for a one-night stand.

Scheduled for five appearances in 2019, the POWRi West Midgets first took to I-44 back in March alongside the POWRi Lucas Oil National Midgets as part of the sixth annual “Turnpike Challenge.” Sutter, California’s Logan Seavey, the 2017 POWRi National Midget champion, swept both nights of action as Sand Springs, Oklahoma’s Hank Davis led the way for POWRi West competitors with a podium score on the opening night.

An April 13 standalone race was rained out, which has led us to this showing on Saturday, May 18 at the Oklahoma City facility. Following this weekend’s activities, the POWRi West Midgets will return to “The 405” on Saturday, July 27 for their fifth and final scheduled event at I-44 Riverside Speedway in 2019.

With seven races in the books and a scheduled 22 event left on the docket, the point standings are currently led by Carl Junction, Missouri’s Andrew Felker. Aboard the Chad Shields Racing, Hyper No. 44S, Felker has managed to claim an April win at Port City Raceway along with two top five finishes and three top-ten runs in seven feature starts.

Entering the weekend, Felker is chased by Oklahoma City, Oklahoma’s Trey Marcham, who is second in points and trails by 320 markers. Rounding out the top five in the early-season standings is Logan Seavey (-590), Cannon McIntosh (-620) and Hank Davis (-640).
