Marcham Darts to Victory at Fallen Racers Memorial

Marcham Darts to Victory at Fallen Racers Memorial

Oklahoma City, OK - Trey Marcham wheeled the number 32 "Blue Tornado" into victory lane on Saturday night at I-44 Riverside Speedway's Fallen Racers Memorial. After narrowly missing a non-wing lock in spot on the first night of racing, Marcham qualified for the main event on night two going from 5th to 3rd in his heat race. Marcham started in the 10th position for the feature and weaved his way through the field to battle for the top spot with driver of the 7C and close friend, Chris Cochran.

"I was having fun racing with Chris," said Marcham. "It was pretty cool getting to race hard with my buddy."

Marcham and Cochran traded places multiple times throughout the race, exchanging slide jobs and fighting to the last lap. A caution on lap 24 would lead to a green, white, checkered finish where Marcham drove away with the win. The two friends drove a hard, clean race and left it all out on the track.

"I was worried because I know how good Chris is. He could've taken off and with that many cars for me to pass, it would've been hard to catch him," said Marcham. "It felt good to get the monkey off my back and honestly, that's the most fun I've had out on the track in a long time."

Marcham and Cochran topped the 20 car field at the NOW600 race, which hosted 125 cars on Saturday. Sooner 600 Week will continue across the south and midwest regions and come full circle back to I-44 Riverside Speedway on Saturday, June 3 for the final event of the series.

Marcham says this win couldn't have come at a better time because it's a "nice confidence booster" before they hit the road to race in the number 32 Marcham Racing midget. He and his team will be headed up the highway to race two Illinois Speed Week shows during the first week of June and USAC Midget Week in Indiana June 6-11.
